First American Title...Preface

PREFACE

The title of the book may not provide much clue as to the substance it is made of, but it is both evocative and provocative in more respects than one. The underlying suspense does not take long to disentangle itself. The reader soon discovers the thick layers that smother justice in a Federal Court in Washington State as he follows the author through the dark, tortuous and tortious corridors of the American Judicial System which affords the rich myriad opportunities to escape through its backdoor.

First American Title to Injustice is the true story of one single man’s fight for justice in a jungle which perpetuates the theory of survival, not of the fittest, but of the filthiest. It is the story of the author who, like David, stands alone in an arena of giants ready to make a mouthful of him. David, at least, had only one Goliath to face.

Louis Leclézio has invested all his faith, hope and bitterness in this revealing book which beats all attempts at fiction writing. This work is a penetrating cri de coeur which reaches out to the reader and touches the innermost recesses of his heart.

Having laid bare the sham, the hypocrisy and the double-dealings of a spurious justice à l’Américaine, the author expresses his faith in the Justice of the Above, knowing that up there the first will be last and the last will be first.

Or could it be that American Justice per se is not all that loathsome? Is it not rather the men in black who are entrusted to administer it who make a mockery of it?

First American Title to Injustice is edifying, vindicating. It makes compelling reading… at one sitting.
